Last updated: 23 February 2026
GP Wheel ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and store information when you use the GP Wheel mobile application ("the App").
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information collected automatically
When you use the App, we may automatically collect the following non-personal information:
- Device identifier - A randomly generated unique identifier (UUID) is created and stored securely on your device. This identifier is used solely to authenticate API requests and prevent abuse. It is not linked to your identity.
- Usage analytics - We collect anonymised usage data such as which screens you view and which features you interact with (e.g., viewing driver standings, selecting a favourite team). This data does not identify you personally.
- Crash and performance data - If the App encounters an error or crash, diagnostic information (such as device type, operating system version, and stack traces) is collected to help us improve the App.
1.2 Information you provide
- Preferences - The App stores your chosen preferences locally on your device, including measurement units, time format, favourite driver, and favourite team. This data is not transmitted to our servers.
- Subscription information - If you purchase a subscription (monthly or annual), your payment is processed by Apple through the App Store. We use RevenueCat, a third-party service, to manage subscription entitlements. We do not receive or store your payment card details, billing address, or Apple ID.
1.3 Information we do not collect
We do not collect:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information
- Your location data
- Your contacts, photos, calendar, or health data
- Advertising identifiers (IDFA) or cross-app tracking data
The App does not require you to create an account or log in.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above for the following purposes:
- To provide and operate the App, including delivering Formula 1 content
- To authenticate and secure API requests between the App and our servers
- To understand how the App is used so we can improve features and performance
- To identify and fix technical issues, crashes, and bugs
- To manage your subscription entitlements
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or automated decision-making.
3. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services, which may collect and process data on our behalf:
| Service | Provider | Purpose | Data Processed | Privacy Policy |

These third parties are bound by their own privacy policies and applicable data protection obligations.
4. Cross-Border Disclosure
In accordance with Australian Privacy Principle 8, we disclose that information collected by the App may be transferred to, and processed in, the United States by our third-party service providers (Google LLC and RevenueCat Inc.). By using the App, you consent to this transfer. We take reasonable steps to ensure that overseas recipients handle your information in accordance with the APPs.
5. Data Storage and Security
- Preferences and your device identifier are stored locally on your device using industry-standard secure storage mechanisms (Apple Keychain and encrypted app storage).
- The App does not maintain a persistent database of user data on our servers.
- All communication between the App and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS and authenticated using HMAC-SHA256 cryptographic signatures.
- We take reasonable steps to protect information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification, and disclosure, in accordance with APP 11.
6. Data Retention
- Analytics data is retained by Google in accordance with their data retention policies. You can learn more at Google's data retention information.
- Crash reports are retained by Google for the purpose of ongoing stability analysis.
- Subscription data is retained by RevenueCat for as long as necessary to manage your subscription.
- Local data (preferences and device identifier) remains on your device until you delete the App. Note that the device identifier stored in the Keychain may persist after the App is uninstalled; it is removed when the device is factory reset.
7. Your Rights
Under the Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to:
- Access - Request access to any personal information we hold about you (APP 12)
- Correction - Request correction of any inaccurate personal information (APP 13)
- Complaint - Lodge a complaint if you believe your privacy has been breached

8. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete such information.
9. Widgets
The App offers home screen widgets that display Formula 1 information (e.g., favourite driver, standings, next race). Widgets access the same locally stored preferences as the main App through a shared app group. Widgets do not make independent network requests or collect additional data.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
